Personal update:

I’ve returned to Shanghai in 2017, and founded Youth Philanthropy Academy ( YPA , Link in Chinese).  I am focused on two initiatives. One is designing and delivering an entry-level philanthropy course for middle school students, and the other is designing a multi-year philanthropy curriculum for families with kids between 8 – 13 .  I am very excited about the new journey.

Website update:

After a 4-year hiatus, I decided to reactivate this website.  My writing will most likely to be around youth philanthropy and philanthropy education.  But I will share articles on Chinese philanthropy which I find interesting or valuable.  If you would like to join me in this endeavor, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

I am Helen Li, principal of PhilanSci Advisory, LLC and entrepreneur to explore innovative ways to help advance effective philanthropy and social innovation in China.

Although Chinese philanthropy is still at its nascent stage, it has experienced amazing growth in the past few years.  It’s my passion to connect Chinese philanthropy with global philanthropy. This website is my effort to put fragmented information on Chinese philanthropy in one place, whether it’s fragmented news or in-depth research report.  I also write about my observation or reflection on Chinese philanthropy. I hope you find this website helpful.
